Our Business

Novustep was incorporated in early 2007 to provide management level security consulting services to those companies in need of experienced information security guidance, but who may not have a full time or permanent staffing need.  

As regulatory, compliance and security posture needs increase for many company's and industries, executives are increasingly choosing to fulfill these needs with contract consulting assistance as opposed to staffing full time security officer roles within their enterprises. 

While many executives initially attempt to grow security expertise internally, it is frequently realized, within a short period of time, that information security is an enterprise function which requires senior level experience to meet the emerging business needs.

Who We Are

Mr. McGuire is the founder of Novustep LLC, a company which offers managerial information security consulting services to corporate organizations, primarily in the regulated industries of healthcare, finance, and critical infrastructure.

Prior to founding Novustep, Mr. McGuire spent five (5) years as the Information Security Officer for TSYS iSolutions, a company that specializes in credit card management solutions for commercial card processing and related financial services.  Mr. McGuire has worked for 20+ years in a number of technical and managerial positions in a variety of industries, including manufacturing & distribution, utilities, insurance, technology & e-commerce, security consulting, government and financial services.

In addition to memberships with the FBI InfraGard, ABA and ISACA organizations, Mr. McGuire serves on the boards of directors of Ensuren Corporation and the Denver chapter of InfraGard, is a technical advisory board member for GuideStar Technologies, and is a past advisory board member to the SANS Institute for the GIAC GCIH certification, where he was a contributing author to the SANS Incident Handling step-by-step guide in 2001.
